I'll PM you when I figure it out. I'm hearing conflicting reports. Which one do you normally go to?

I used to go to Vegas a lot in the 90s. Then there was such an explosion of gaming, the last time I was there was in 2003, after enduring that hellish BC at SA. Now I can pretty much play whatever (except sports) here or nearby (and you can play sports in the Bahamas, but I gave up serious sports betting like 12 years ago). Even this stay is part of a larger trip.

I used to like it old school, at the LV Hilton, dark and cavernous. When I tried to book a room there for a week, the back end was super cheap but the Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat leading into the BC was ridiculous--the Wed. alone was $399/night!

So those four nights I am staying cheap out in Henderson and then switching to the LVH for Sun,Mon,Tues,Wed after the BC. It is like $275--for all four nights combined, which I am splitting with a friend. It is basically free.

In fact I may check out the race/sports book at Green Valley Ranch (which is in Henderson) on Thursday. If it is OK I may just play there.

Going to be tough to get a seat even if you are guest someplace--a lot of regs will have them reserved.

Best deal for the week of 11/4 to 11/11:
Palms Place, $120 a night on reservetravel.com. Palms racebook is excellent and the Palms Place is brand new.

Call Samstown on Boulder Hwy at 1800-897-8696. Ask for Jack Schneider in the Race & Sportsbook. Tell him you heard about the special rates on the Thoroughbred LA radio show or Vegas Track Talk radio show. Here is the deal. Friday and Saturday nights, $69.99. Bookend Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday nights for just $29.99. This is a horseplayer's deal. There were only a few of these rooms left on the weekend.

Friday night at 6:00PM Samstown is holding a BC seminar with Professor Gordon Jones, Patrick McQuiggan and John Kelly. A $20 BC wager on Saturday gets you a free t-shirt.

Nice hotel, I was impressed. We had a bunch of guests staying there for our wedding last month with that rate.

I'll make sure I see you. The Indomitable ScavS will also be in Vegas as well.

The smart money is all over taking me and the points in a head-to-head eating competition against Scav at any buffet of his choosing.

I will roll him in upset fashion.

That would be the greatest single training job in the history of the BC.

Last time I saw him, Tector had the look of a man that could put the food away as well.

I expand and contract, just like Oprah. Right now I'm back in expanded mode (I had a contracted mode in between now and the time you saw me).

Now that I think of it, maybe Oprah and I are on the same cycle.

Ewwwww....

DrugS is gonna love all those 3.99 Steak and Lobster buffets out there. He might not ever come back.

Dude, get a clue.

There's no way he spends $3.99 on a single meal.

I probably will go back for the entire winter if I like the city ... though some tell me it's a great place if you have like 72 hours, but any longer than that and it starts to suck. Those are the same two who tell me Oregon is like heaven on earth though.

Cheap as I am ... I've become way too much of a sissy for a winter up here.
