Honestly that would be me, but I consider myself a far bigger Red Sox fan than Yankee hater.

The Yankees winning the WS this year would not bum me out. I have far too many good friends and family members that love the Yankees.

The Red Sox losing to Tampa last year in Game 7 sent me into a 2 week depression. This year, it didnt hurt so much when they embarrased themselves in Game 3 against the Angels. I actually was amused by it because I cant stand Papelbon. Kind of reminded me how the team gave up in that series in 05 against the White Sox. Sure the White Sox were the far better team, but it was very apparent that the Red Sox could care less their season was over and were glad to get it over with!

You know they were secretly rooting for the Sox plane to crash and you to get swine flu when they won their two latest titles right?

I look at the Red Sox rivalry different these days. I always looked at it as the Haves and the Have nots. I took great pleasure in knowing that the Red Sox hadn't won in such a long time. Once they finally broke through (and especially the way they did it) the rivalry lost a little something for me.
And if I was a Red Sox fan, you a so happy that they finally broke the curse (or whatever you thought was wrong) that nothing else matters. If they never won another game again, you wouldn't care because it's like you saw the impossible. That's the way I felt when the Rangers won the cup in 94. I never thought I would see that in my lifetime and because I did, as crazy as it sound I don't die as much every year when they get knocked out of the playoffs.

I felt like that for a while, but ahh, wouldnt have it been great to repeat? But they were outclassed by the White Sox in 05 and very much layed down for them. Then in 06 they were a diseaster. 07 was awesome although the anticlimatic WS romp against the Rockies left us wanting even more next season. Then comes the 08 series against the Rays where they came all the way back from 3-1 down to lose in the 7th game. That loss hurt more than the 03 loss to you guys and Aaron Boone. Imagine going for our 3rd WS title in 5 years? And being called a dynasty?

As far as the Yankees go, I hated them a lot more before we finally won the WS. Once we got the monkey off our backs, they were no longer as hated, at least by me. I still love the rivalry like no other, and cherish the games bewteen the 2 teams.
