It was IMO, being so wide the whole time and he still had some run late. Had every right to get beat today given his trip. Not sure what was in the race though, it was essentially a nw2 life

He's the most promising American turfer I have seen in awhile, a real nice turn of foot, Kent was very confident with that ride today!

Both of KD's rides on Interactif have been awful...but the colt has been so superior it hasn't mattered.

I'm no Desormeaux fan, but what was wrong about his ride on this horse? He sat well back off very fast early fractions on a soft turf course and then made a sweeping move around tiring horses on what looked like the best part of the turf course. Would you have had him try to pick his way through the field on the inside (and risking getting stopped), when the inside looked like the worst part of the turf at Keeneland this weekend.

I think this was a case of a Jockey being really confident in the horse he was riding, there is no way he would have gotten away with the same type of ride in the BC for instance and expect to win, normally you just don't see horses win with rides like yesterday's. I don't want to overstate his 2 turf wins, but I haven't seen an American produced turf horse with this much ability since Kitten's Joy, if he can maintain that 1/4 mile move of his for much of his career, I suspect he will win more than his share of big turf races, remarkable because he was just sprinting before they tried him on turf.

Barbaro was a pretty decent turf horse in the interim, and Gio Ponti's win in this race two years ago off a single maiden race at Belmont was very impressive.

Interactif's two races have been impressive (given race dynamics, his win at Saratoga may have been better), but to be honest, I'm more interested in seeing how Pletcher's other horse, Eskendreya (won Pilgrim off the turf), develops than this one.

Perhaps, I didn't mind his ride in the With Anticipation so much, he probably could have waited a tad more and the result would have been the same, but that was one of his signature moves, the preemptive Desourmeux strike that he wins so often with, and at times he gets caught late with also.

What 2yo stake isn't in this era?
