boats need anchors. society's need conservatives.

that's not an insult. i think the conservative movement has historically served an important role in our country and other's.

it's also why i worry about the intellectual bankruptcy of conservative idea's at the moment. they've thrown out the whitaker chamber's and william f. buckley's and replaced them with sarah palin and joe the plumber.

liberals should worry about this as much as mainstream republican's. everyone needs a worthy adversary to keep them sharp. the chances that we go far astray are higher when the only argument against your idea's come from beauty queens and high school dropouts. you get soft.

I'm against the Gov't being involved in the internet, and that's because there will always be someone wanting to get the Gov't to take away content they find objectionable. Where were these(Conservative) personal privacy proponents when Bush signed the Conservative-Sponsored internet gambling bill? They believe in limited Gov't? WTF was that? G Damn hypocrites.

1) That had nothing to do with booing - please keep up.

2) You learned a new insult phrase! Good for you!

It wasn't very classy to do what Wilson did. That being said, I do feel the best argument against the President's speech is that he did not mention any efforts to curtail illegal immigration. Even if he says they aren't going to be insured, they're still going to have to be taken care of in the E.R. of our hospitals. If we all agree that Medical care is expensive, then curtailing illegal immigration has to be a big part of any effort to improve the medical care for Americans. That's just a simple reality that progressives need to stop ignoring. Yes, we all want a better world, but Americans should not have to be punished because people of other cultures see fit to irresponsibly breed beyond their means.
