Travers Jocks donating 10%

Why is it that the jocks always have to step up? Maybe an owner or two could kick in. These guys put their ass on the line every day.

Do you realize that the jocks are really the ones that make all the money....

Owners are the last people that should step up on this

Straight was making $500 a day if he was riding 5 horses (he was riding between 3-5 a day) and that is just mount fees, that could be higher with him getting 1/2/3.....

That's $2500 a week, minus the 20% to his agent and 10%(?) to his valet, he is down to $1750 a week, which is still some good money.

I realize that and I realize it's 3 sessions to AP Indy.. A million is a million and that money will do some good work nonethelss.

I agree...I wonder why more multi-zillionaires dont do this.
Of course most are liberals, who list paying taxes as their favorite pastime.

Can't speak about Straight yet (don't have the info) but can say that when Douglas went down, one of the first people to donate was FCC..... that put in $250k. Was down in the paddock and heard him say that to Alyssa on the day they had the fundraiser for him at AP.

for some reason, it gets more press when jocks do it, than owners/trainers.
