Default Spill at Monmouth? Who is hurt?

Just flipped on TVG to catch the tail end of the announcers expressing what seemed like serious concern about a jockey after a "very bad fall" at Monmouth.

I think it was the 4th race.

Anyone know who it was?

Jackie Davis was the jockey. "Taken off on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital" are the details thus far from TVG.

She doesn't need to be riding races to begin with. 107 starts with 7 wins AND being a 7 pound apprentice = exercise rider.

Thanks for the update on the MTH riders.

As for the LA Downs jocks, DRF says that apparently all are sore but all right, with the exception of Lonnie Meche. He'll miss 5-6 weeks with a cracked collarbone, fractured wrist, and injured ankle.

Haran, the horse whose breakdown caused the spill, was the only animal reported to be euthanized. Sad for Haran and his connections, but good for the others. Good news that the spill wasn't any worse.

In fairness, I didn't get your intended meaning the first time either.

But now that you point it out, I guess an open read might have caught it.

I tend to take the riders side in just about every thread here.

Meches are good self-medicators. He'll be alright.
