Didnt beat anybody? Who the heck did Bullsbay beat in the Whitney?
I understand the handicap division is terrible this year, but you don't think that Macho Again and Commentator are much better than More Than a Reason and Dr. D.F.C.? These horses haven't been able to win starter handicaps and state bred races for christ sake. Now I'm not saying Cool Coal Man wouldn't have been right there in the Whitney, but he beat a field that was simply awful today once Barrier Reef flopped.

Doesn't Cool Coal Man do this every once in a while?

I'll believe him as a graded stakes horse when he runs well in a graded stakes race. I'd also like to see him put two good races together.

At least he ran that well considering whatever it was that happened with the atrocity known as Da' Tara.

He does freak out every now and then, thats for sure. Kind of like his kid brother Coal Play. The handicap division is so bad this year, Cool Coal Man will probably be the favorite in the Woodward.

Not if Asiatic Boy or Macho Again are in there.

When Barrier Reef flopped, today's race effectively became little more than a glorified NW2X allowance.

Assuming Rachel isn't there I would think Bullsbay or Cool Coal Man would be more likely to be bet to favoritism than either of those two. Either way it should be a pretty wide open board.

Highly touted coming from Dubai for McLaughlin, Asiatic Boy finished ahead of Bullsbay (Foster) and Cool Coal Man (Suburban) in each of his two most recent races. I'd expect him to be a shorter price than either of those two in what would be his third race in North America. Wasn't he the favorite in the Suburban, even though McLaughlin was concerned about (for these days) the quick turnarond?

I think Asiatic Boy would have won the Whitney had he not spiked a fever but that doesn't take away from his highest Beyer being a 98 while Bullsbay will have a 107 coming in and Cool Coal Man a 100-105 with both of their recent races being at Saratoga. I think both will take more money than Asiatic Boy.

Agree, he freaks... Then when the competition gets better he is nothing.

The pedigree suggests he could improve with time, maybe thats whats happening, but I doubt it.

Yes, the 2 you mentioned are much better horses but I would give Cool Coal Man more than a hot against Macho Again and Dry Martini any day of the week. Neither horses should scare away anybody.
