There are lots of issues but I dont see how cold can be one of them when they recently ran one of these very close to Chicago. And is it really that much colder here than it is at Belmont in late Oct/early Nov?

Yes it is that much colder than Belmont in late Oct. I'm not saying not to do it, I would love it, but it is a reason given.

Couldn't be much colder than Churchill in '06.

Yes, and the bigger reason it makes no sense in Saratoga is it would mean moving all the NYRA equipment up to Saratoga for one week and then moving it all back to Belmont. Unless they ever wanted to do a BC at the end of September and extended the Saratoga meet until then it makes absolutely no sense to move all the equipment two extra times when Belmont is a perfect venue for the BC.

My vote would just be to do it at Belmont every year. Its the perfect race track in every way.

It should be held permanently at Churchill. It needs to be at a neutral site.

Belmont is fine, but I want to see more than one BC dirt race run around two full turns.

I dont see it but I'll take your word for it. May be 10 degrees different?
What about Chicago? Are you telling me its warmer in Chicago too?

Now is the cold issue relating to the fans wont want to stay outside in the cold all day? Or is it about plumbing and other technical equipment? If it is, that I could see, but fans go to Lambert Field in weather 50 degrees colder.

A BC on real dirt and a nice turf course is a pretty damn good product! I think people would come!

Lifers Randall? There are plenty of them here at Saratoga too!

The BigM is a dump I don't want it there I was joking. SO is Aqueduct though.

Truthfully if they had a rotation between Arl, CD, Bel, and SA I'd be fine with that, though I don't like having it on Poly much.

It would never happen at the Meadowlands. Too many questions/risks with the Main Track. Due to the fact that it's not really the #1 permanant surface there.
I personally think with a fresh coat of paint and a few leaky pipes fixed The Big A would be a fine spot to have the BC.

Ugh after September. That's only reason I didn't move there. Love it.

Really? I am not a winter lover either but I wouldnt let a few degrees here and there dictate where I live. If it was warm weather I was after, the NYC/NJ area would not be where I would go. I know in the harshest months, the NYC area is slightly more mild than here, but the weather there still sucks from about Nov through April.

As somebody who has done just about every winter of their life here, its really not that bad. And this from somebody who doesnt ski or snowmobile. OTBS are warm places to be in the middle of winter. Dumps, but warm!

The Meadowlands is a fun track to go to! I wouldn't select it as a place for the BC but I can think of a lot of other tracks that are more dumpy.

See that might be a reason not to have it in Chicago either.

It would be amazing to have the BC at Sunshine Coast in Australia.

Are all of you questioning whether Saratoga Springs is colder than Chicago or Toronto taking into account that Saratoga is not winterized whatsoever?
