I know it is hindsight but the WV derby is hardly the best way to win the Travers. Which I guess makes the fact that we dont have a coherent national racing schedule even more sad.

Mountaineer is a quirky track, I never agreed or understood why they chose that race for Mine That Bird if they wanted to race to the horse's strengths. For all this horse has going or not going for him in terms of musical jockies and an unknown B track Trainer, it is remarkable what he has accomplished this year.
