![]() Very tough meet. I've been following the SPA for years, there's not really a solid consistent track bias. It changes daily. Be smart and play selective races and make spot plays. Because there's a lots of cash in the pools, "place betting" is something I like to do. You always can get 7/2 and 5/1 paying nice place prices just because of the amount in the pools. When in doubt listen to Andy S take, he's always got a good vibe.

![]() I believe any meet that just starts and has horses coming from all over the country and the world with everybody pointed for the meet to get a win just naturally will be much harder. you will probably cash less tickets but when you do hit its gotta be a biggie that will carry you

![]() The only thing 'tough' about SAR is that there's no value.

![]() You have got to be kidding on that comment. Followed your comments since I've been here and nothing could be further from the truth.

![]() Having a real hard time putting any multi-race wager together that doesn't get blown apart. Finding some nice prices on exactas that keep me above water. There is a long way to go and I'm enjoying it more than ever. Nothing wrong with that great feeling at 12:59 Spyder! One of these days you'll be pouring the bourbon in celebration at 6:00.

I also play longshots, typically. Not 5:1 shots but more like 15:1 and up. On many of the tracks I play (AP, quickly comes to mind presently) there are many plays at these and greater odds that 'make sense'. For example, there was a 25:1 shot at WO yesterday that 'figured', just on simple handicapping alone, every bit as much as the favorites. The horse had run a close 3rd last out, in the same class, against the same horses. I haven't see this so far at SAR. Nor have I seen it in the past. Typically, it's harder to get this type of price at NY tracks. Do they come in? Sure, but they don't make as much sense as those on other tracks. So, you're typically taking lower odds for a riskier bet. Look at today's 1st. I thought I'd get easily > 10:1 on the 2 horse, even with Dominguez up. At that price, it's worth a play. At 6:1 (or whatever) it ultimately went off, I'd have to be an idiot to play it. And 5:2 on the Parisella 1st time turfer was a hell of a overlay, wasn't it? ![]() Maybe it's not the same for those that are playing 2 year olds. I suppose that there's a chance to hit some bombs there. |

![]() I would think that the value is greater earlier in the meet than as we go on, the second time around for most of these horses should yield less surprises so this is the time to be creative if you ask me.

![]() There is value, the prices speak for themselves. This meet has been far superior in wagering than Belmont's and far more interesting.
