he's gonna be 2nd choice in a G1 (IMO) and thats laughable as to how NOT loaded this field is, and how his pedigree will still get him overbet

Granted this isn't exactly Artie Schiller vs. Kitten's Joy but this is a pretty good field from the standpoint of accomplishments and potential.

I think there's an excellent chance that races like the Secretariat, Jamaica and Hollywood Derby (G1 for 3YO on turf) will be won by horses in this field.

no, but when you're a race track and you prop your biggest race up with headlines like this:

Nicanor, A Full Brother to Barbaro, Headlines $750,000 Virginia Derby FieldShare
Today at 7:38am
A field of ten three year old horses entered Monday afternoon’s post position draw for the 12th running of the $750,000 Virginia Derby (Gr. II) at Colonial Downs. The Derby...

it kinda gets annoying, but hey thats just me

totally agree, and headlines like that is what drives the price down on a horse like nicanor, NOT his resume.

** you would think they would push the whole Battle Of Hasting and the $5M bonus as a headline

That bonus is a joke cause the BC Turf is the last leg of it.

In other words, turn them onto the horse that has no shot?

Were you there for the Colonial Turf Cup? The attendance was depressing. I really hope they pull this track together and resolve their wagering issues. Getting higher purses is probably never going to happen though..

Guys I think your nuts if you're going to bet against Nicanor, not even Secretariat had a victory so dominating!

Trainer Michael Matz entered Nicanor in a maiden race at Delaware Park on May 13, where he picked up his first win in dominant fashion -- by more than 15 furlongs.

My initial reaction after the race was to blame Lopez for engaging Affirmatif too soon and trying to get a 3 furlong run out of Straight Story. But, on second thought, I really can't blame Lopez as he was put in a tough position when Floretino didn't go for the early lead and Affirmatif was all alone out there on the lead.
