He was probably as good as I've ever seen him. But I really didn't care for the strange comment. I think he could have worded it a different way. Too bad many people (including myself) don't take any stock in what he says. Otherwise he would probably be lauded today for a very good performance.

I just thought that the "was nothing strange about your Daddy" line was unecessary. He could have made the point (while taking his shot at the media) in a different manner.

It's too bad the last time Al Sharpton was relevant or considered anything other than a windbag was about when Thriller came out.

I didn't watch any of the Jackson memorial live, I paid no attention until I saw Paris's picture on CNN.COM.

I wasn't a Jackson fan, I even made some jokes the day he died. After watching his daughter's brief words, I felt bad I ever joked about him. I think if we had seen more of his kids and him interacting, maybe we wouldn't have thought he was so strange

As far as Sharpton's reference to that, I thought he was the 2nd best part of the memorial service(after Paris). I know he protected his kids too much from the world, but I'm sure they already knew(except the younger boy) that many people made fun of their father

I liked Sharpton in the Democratic primary debates 4 years ago, but still can't back him in any way due to the Tawana Brawley fiasco

I think I must have tuned the reverend out. All I remember is:

So,Thank ya! (de da dum dum).....Thank ya! (ba de dum).....Thank ya! (de da dum dum)..... Thank ya!....Thank ya!..Thank ya!.....Thank ya!..(for what ya done!)
(crowd stands up )

LOL...Told ya I tuned him out. Didn't it have something like that in it?
