Not to start this up or anything (and there have been a few posts, like on the Jealous Again thread.... I just let them go cause there's no need to fight when it's just a difference of opinion) but did you see this?

This was on their site the following day.

When I asked about Formal Decree, I got an answer immediately.

I'm just pointing out that I think they're very free and open with information. They don't need to be but they are.

That's one case.

What about Rio De La Plata.......... they've never mentioned anything about him and (although I don't know for sure) I'm not sure if he's even alive anymore

I don't want to fight or argue, but if you knew just how many horses are destroyed each year at either godolphin or darley pre training, you would be shocked and devistated. Horses we don't even know existed, horses that are purchased for hundreds of thousands as yearlings that never make the track.

I know of four within the last two months, all from Darley pre training.

Well he's listed as being in training on their site anyway.

The four you mention... who were they?

As far as the rest of your post come on... this is their passion. They don't sit down and think of which horses they can "ruin".

Again, not trying to fight here.

I emailed Godolphin yesterday evening about Rio.....

Got an answer (4:41 am my time - how's that for fast?)... they're planning on running him around the end of August / beginning of September.

See my point?

Well, that is good news, but why can't they be more open and explain that, write it in the press. They are losing fans hand over fist.

Also, it was reported on thursday that Fly Cloud had come out of her race at Ascot very lame. Why was it reported that she was lame a whole week after the race? I can tell you why....... because she got lame after they worked her!

I do not know the names, some of the pre training lot are not even named yet. I think they were all two year olds.

You mention their passion? What passion. They don't care anymore. They don't seem bothered. They are still using their scattergun approach at buying anything and everything. Looks at Donativum, a brilliant 2yo, has since gone to Godolphin and looks a shadow of his former self. There are so many of them.

What don't they realise? Can't they see that they are failing in all areas of the 'business'?

My best friend who used to work there, he's still gutted about Desert Authority who he still says is one of the best horses he's ever ridden. He was unbeaten in two starts and then broken down.

It isn't coincidence that Godolphin suffer more break downs and injuries than any other trainer.

isnt it odd that they have Fabre training tons of his horses and he decides when they should be sent to Godolphin and Bin Suroor. They should get their top 50 horses, and have Fabre training them, not Bin Suroor. Its so bloody clear, I cant believe nobody has suggested it..

I think they are open but come on... they have how many horses?

Can't be expected to write a press release for each one every day.

Be fair.

If they can't simply say "the filly returned home lame" like anyone else would do, I think that shows that they cannot cope with the amount of horses under their 'care'..... if you can go as far as calling it care.

You don't, all of a sudden produce a full article a week after the race. Anyway, she was injured in a piece of work, but once again they are covering themselves.

'they' as an organisation are clueless. They must be to plough so much money into it and come out with a negative return every year.

I wonder how many billions they will spend on yearlings this autumn, and I wonder what percentage of them we will see on the track running in the royal blue silks. I think it's currently about 15%!

Each week, Mark Johnston will be running a 3 or 4yo in a maiden somewhere and the first line of the write up reads "ex godolphin" or "expensive pruchase never made the track for godolphin"

Ok, it's their money and they can spend it as they like, but it's quickly putting people off buying yearlings and selling them to Darley! It's putting people off racing. When Canford Cliffs destroyed the field in the coventry people weren't saying "wow, what a performance", instead we heard cries of "please god don't let godolphin have him" and I'm not exagerating that one little bit. That is how fed up people are of this joke outfit.
