I agree with you that the Obama World politics are more inclusionary than Bush. But I don't know whether this strategy will pay off or not. I think it is good in the sense that Obama may be able to rehabilitate the US' reputation with the masses in some other countries. That is a good thing. and also, surely we can reach out to some of these countries while not pissing off our traditional allies? so, now instead of just china being mad at us over those guys, england is as well. as my son would say, well that's just fantastic.
i just think it's going to take more than a couple of pretty speeches to fix what's been broken for years. it may actually not even be fixable past a certain point. thing is, even if we try to reach common ground, we still need to make sure we're reaching out to something that doesn't reach out and bite us back for our efforts.
