My idea has always been to charge admission to the casino and then give them wagering credit at the track equal to the cost of admission. So they have to pony up $10 to get in but then get credit to go wager $10 on the track.

Too bad that the machines don't (or maybe they do, for all I know) have the ability/option to watch and wager on races from your joker poker machine. For instance, you have 50 dollars worth of credits in your machine. You realize that there is a race going off in one minute. Hit the racing option on your machine and have the ability to bet with your credits or putting more money in the machine. Print out a ticket and then watchthe race from your terminal. After the race switch back to the joker poker until the next race.

Couldn't agree more...Indy Live casino doesn't give a rats a@@ about people going to the track. All they want is to make sure that when the live racing is done, they flock over to the slots. I figure the only thing I can do is tell anyone who will listen that they should be betting the ponies and maybe getting a better return. If 1 in 25 people listen a little and start doing that, then it's about all I can do right now to advance the game. Someday I'd like to get a piece of a horse to own, but that will have to wait until the Student loans are paid down. Don't get me wrong, I will play a little roulette, electronic poker and I'd damn sure play craps if they ever get it, but I go for the racing and let my wife piss away the time with the penny slots. If I make enough to cover her losses, then every one had fun!
