HOL R7 keyed Oneill/Bejaranose's charge (copyrights to Coach Pants) in three spots of tri with 1,3,5,7,9...Put a hundo to place as well...GL all!!

That's why I don't bet Jockies, when I bet I just hope I get a decent ride. In fairness I thought his ride on Visit was pretty good yesterday and infact much better than Gomez had done in all of his rides on her combined. Now can someone tell me what Talamo was doing setting the fractions with Pride Dancer? Drives you nuts at times.

I was suprised too. I had 3,7,9 in the pick 4 and expected the 3 to go near or on the lead with the 7 coming from behind. But it was totally reversed, with Talamo going to the front. Obviously you would think that Frankel told him to go there. She ran well on the lead a couple a times overseas, that being said I was still cursing when I saw her go to the front.

That's what I thought, Frankel must have gave some prerace instructions. Anyway Unionize for Talamo in the 8th to salvage a less than fruitful day at Hollywood. G'luck!

There's a race from a few years ago, when Samyn was still able to ride, that should be used as an instructional tape for how to stalk on the turf. He was on one of Jerkens' horses (one that was subsequently claimed; I wish I could remember her name and dig up the race). Samyn had her on the hedge, directly behind the speed, drafting like a princess. Every time the speed let out a notch, so did Samyn. By the time they entered the stretch, he just blew by and won for fun. Anyone who has ever cycled knows what this is all about.

This BS where jocks are stalking to the outside of horses on the turf and poly really needs to stop. (As does the premature move outside the speed before or on the turn.) This type of riding is exactly what makes dirt racing distasteful to me.

Or, at the very least, the tracks need to start announcing when jocks plan on going without cover.

Very few do it well, I agree it is a lost art, I think Dominguez is one of the few that understand this concept. Jerry Bailey was the master at it a regular basis, there's a youtube vid with him and Harvey Pack describing his 5 race win day at the Spa, one on his thoughts of riding on turf. He was the best turf jockey I have had the pleasure of watching in all my yrs of following the game, granted I am not that old...but....

If I were still betting I'd go with Razor Cut in the finale. It'll be interesting to see if Espinoza can still find a win to move too soon given the cutback in distance.

I hate to go for the 9/2 favorite but Senor Afortunado looks tough to me.
