LOL I have no job. I resigned last Friday, I sleep till 10 every day, hardly leave the couch other than to get coffee or food or make a feeble attempt to pack my stuff up.

Who am I on the Wire?

Hitting open jumpers is one thing. Hitting 3's from
the farm house is another. Cleveland will have to play
better defense. And they will.
Yes, they weren't playing Cleveland those games. They shot well all year against Cleveland. Cleveland played well too outside of defense yesterday...only 5 turnovers...48 percent shooting. That's pretty darn efficient. They certainly won't do that every game either. LeBron won't go 20 for 30 every game. Yeah, panic mode. ok. Cleveland cannot guard Howard with anyone on their roster. Varejao is an active player, but he can't guard a guy like Lewis.

Regardless of the defensive intent in the matchup, there is no doubt that he was covering the point guard. I wont even bother misquoting Jerry west or asking him if he meant Center or PG when he talked about 4 positions.
Just so you might some day understand the difference, the "weak side" is the opposite of where the ball is on the floor. When you rotate off the ball from the opposite side, that is considered "weak side" help. When you leave your man to help cover the post regardless of what side of the floor the ball or your "assignment" is on, thats called "doubling".

I will ask you questions on this next week for a gold star.

So are you saying you know more about the sport than either? Please. Face it...those guys have forgotten more than you will ever know about the sport but yet you are still clinging to this hopelessly.

When you put up the white flags, i took you at your word.

They look like a better team to me so far. Not much better but better.

In the Utah series
Brown was the first guard off the bench in the first four games. Vujacic was second. They switched for the last game. Farmar didn't even get into the last three games. Minutes played:

Series average
Brown-about 17
Vujacic-about 15
Farmar-under 2

In the Houston series
In the first game, Vujacic was the first guard off the bench. Played almost 14 minutes. Brown was second and played 12 1/2. Farmar played just under three. Game two, Farmar was first off the bench and played nearly 18. Game three when Fisher was suspended, Farmar started and went almost 33 minutes. Farmar was a starter in one game and first off the bench in five others.

Series average
Farmar-about 17
Brown-about 14
Vujacic-about 14

So far in the Denver series
Game one, Vujacic was first off the bench
V-13.07
F-9.22
B-6.09

Game two, Brown was first off the bench
B-16.46
F-6.14
V-5.35

What I'm getting at is that Phil has no clue what he's doing. He messes with guys so much that they don't know if they are coming or going. Sure, you want to say that it's good that he does it that way because it keeps all the guys on their toes and ready at all times because you don't know when you will get your number called. But that's not how it really works. You'd like it to since they are professionals but it doesn't. Guys like to know their roles. A guy like Farmar doesn't know from game to game if he's going to play 20 minutes or won't get off the bench. Brown barely gets in the game in the first one and gets almost 17 minutes the next. And you have to feel for Bynum. He doesn't know whether he's coming or going. From night to night, he doesn't know if he's going to start or come off the bench. Doesn't know if he'll get 20-25 minutes or 10-12. Doesn't know if he'll play in the second half of a game or not. The Lakers are as successful as they are because of Kobe Bryant. Plain and simple. Mariano Rivera (that's my name for Jackson) doesn't help things. He throws out weird combinations, doesn't have a regular rotation, doesn't do things to control the momentum of games. He just hopes that Kobe will bail him out night after night and make him look like a genius.

Well actually that is not true but I honestly dont have the time to explain defensive rotations nor does anyone really want to hear it anyway. You in your own defensive posture wouldn't really listen anyway.

People who are on TV are paid to entertain. They are paid to make the game enjoyable to those like you who actually pay attention to them. Those who understand the game and have regular conversations with others who also understand the game take all that is said on tv with a grain of salt. You refuse to understand that our disagreement has virtually nothing to do with the context of defense and everything to do with YOUR stubborn refusal to admit that LeBron James WAS matched up with an NBA playoff finals PG despite your assertions that he neither did or could. What Doug Collins, Charles Barkley or John Wooden say is meaningless in the context of your contention. You dont have to be a genius to see that what you said was simply wrong. He guarded the PG. I'm sure he will again.

Carmellos game is pretty much the same as it has always been. He is just actually putting some effort in on the defensive end for a change

I guess the fact that he is scoring more and shooting a better percentage is just an illusion.

You just like to disagree with me. I like that about you.

[quote=Cannon Shell] LeBron James WAS matched up with an NBA playoff finals PG QUOTE]

LOL. You get funnier as you continue to reach. Its almost..kind of cute.

Rafer Alson is now a "NBA playoff finals" PG. LOL Do we have to go over that dignified list? Do you realize that Derek fisher, a man you called a BUM, is a NBA champion PG?

Does that change the fact that houston, a playoff team, gave alston away midseason for a backup? Alston is one of the worst pg's in the NBA.

Regardless, what you fail to understand is that it wasnt about position and lebron wasnt GUARDING him. Anything outside of that is an obtuse observation and i know you are not obtuse...just stubborn.
