Triple Crown Winner - a possibility?

they bought a gelding 2yo juvenile canadien champ on syn-track, took him to Sunland made him look bad then waited to get in derby knowing he would clean their clock there and in last two triple crown races, my opinion a set-up and would make a good novel. If MTB checks out clean on after race testing then it's a set-up. Horses don't run like that for know reason, the rest of the field ran the best they could on a horrible track. 1/19 horses handled the track. i don't believe it, and think some sh@# will come out of this.

Mine That Bird's win will be popularly regarded as the result of a once-in-a-lifetime perfect storm. Probably this opinion is correct; probably the gelding will never win another major race. However, I can remember that the other utterly implausible Derby winner, Canonero II, was regarded the same way. Two weeks later he won the Preakness and forced all of the doubters to revise their opinion that the Derby was a fluke.

I think alot of people thought WAR EMBLEM'S Derby win was a case of everyone falling asleep at the wheel and was a front running fluke. Winning The Preakness quieted the cries until The Belmont.

If they knew he was so damn good they should have put Chantel back on board. Then they would have probably got 90-1 on him.

they did get more than 90-1 in the exotics, plus Borel is good from off the pace, @ CD. Most on here can't grasp the way this horse out ran 18 others so easy, i don't buy it for one second he just jumped up and torn up a terrible track like that. Iv'e watch the replay a few times and still don't believe it something smells here.

It's scheduled to rain in Baltimore on Tuesday May 12 and Wednesday May 13. It will be interesting to see if that extends to Saturday of that week....

Mine That Bird drastically changed tactics in the derby, and he was a different horse. I'm not saying he is likely to be the next triple crown winner, but I do think it is worth noting that perhaps he was ridden for the first time in his career the way he wants to be ridden. In retrospect, I went back and looked at his last 3 races and I think most would agree he was ridden rather peculiarly. I'm not summarily dismissing him at this point of time.

In the Sunland Derby he was off to a decent start after the first quarter- they went too fast up front and he was off the first group maybe just a tat too forward...
And then Lambert went to **** after that, for some reason he thought they were too far off the pace and pumps through a 2nd quarter that ruins all the setup advantage they had ...
Then he went and capped it off by racing to the far turn rather than the finish line
Textbook horrible ride.

That come-from-the-clouds running style obviously worked to perfection in the Derby ... but it usually doesn't translate into a very high win % over the long run.

If thats the case and they knew this horse was that good then this is the greatest horse of all time. To think they had much confidence in this horse as the most freakesh horse they had ever seen to take him to Sunland stiff him twice knowing all along that all these scratches were going to happen that would allow him into the race, then know the stiff jobs wouldnt affect the horse negataively because he was that good? . Sounds too much

i agreed with you but said it makes for a great novel, just pure fiction by me. I have no proof or am accusing his owners or trainers, just a conversation piece. And i still don't believe it.
