He could not have been nicer about it, and didnt even think I was crazy for calling about a horse that I didnt own, never owned or seen!!! He kept me on the phone for over 15mins telling me what happened in the race and after. He even told me how he came to claim him and claim him back. He really was a nice guy about the whole thing. The one thing I found wierd was, when I called the racing sec. office at Turf Paradise, I didnt have the words out of my mouth before the guys says "Well would you like his number?"...I said "Sure, is this the number to the barn?" and the guy goes, "No, its his cell phone".....I was shocked that they would give out someones personal number like that. Not that I am not glad that I was able to get in touch with him so quickly, but I just found it alittle strange.
For such a sad ending, those personal responses you received are very refreshing.

With regard to this sport, and to human nature.

I think we all here want to believe that all those around a horse and at the track where they run really do have an interest in the horse's well being.

I know it's a negative. But from my distance and detachment, it's at least more than a tad uplifting.

Thank you for sharing.

I think you helped Mr. Ferguson as much as he helped you. He obviously needed someone who liked the horse as much as he did, and it was you. I liked him too, sorry for the loss.

I'm really sorry to hear this... followed him back when he was Mandella and I liked him

I can't say anything more than Chuckles and Westcoast already have.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Run in peace, good boy.

Wow, sorry to hear

Very cool of the trainer to chat with you about the matter, he sounds like another of the many good ones in this sport.

It really did make me feel better after I talked to him. Now, It could have all been an act, but I really dont think it was. He did seem like he wanted me to feel better about the situation as crazy as that sounds. So thanks for all the kind words guys. RIP Prez'
