The Daily News seconds ESPN's report that Denver hasn't asked for a QB in a trade package, and says Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum is "prepared" for a bidding war. The Jets may have to substantially outbid the rest of the league, however, because they play in the AFC and are the best team involved.

Indications are as many as 10 teams could get involved in the bidding, and the asking price is expected to be high. A league source said yesterday the Broncos will start off looking for a first-round pick this year, a first-rounder next year and a starting quarterback. The Broncos hope to have a deal done by the NFL Draft on April 25, and that price surely will come down.

This is why the Jets supposedly have to get a third team involved, because they supposedly don't have a starting quarterback on their roster.

Such a WILD day right now....KnS dominates and Da Bears snatch up Cutler, although, we gave up the next 10 years for him and still have ZERO WR's

EDIT: Bears get the third-rounder, not the Broncos, so a pretty good deal by Chicago considering the demands.

BEARS
Jay Cutler
2009 3rd (79th overall)

BRONCOS
2009 1st (18th overall)
2010 1st

Gah, ESPN changed its mind again.

Cutler and a fifth for Orton, two firsts and a third.

The Vikings are thrilled, they're hoping this will help everyone forget about the Herschel Walker trade.

Well I stand corrected. Dumb Chicago. Good QB. But team needed too much and gave away too much to get him. WR substandard and everyone else is aging. At least they can run the ball.

WOW!

Chicago mortgaged it's future on cry baby Cutler. Eager to see how he fares in the Windy City. As Sniper said, there sure ain't a B. Marshall on that roster. Gotta start somewhere.

Luke Mcown breathes a sigh of relief, and the population of Tampa Bay resorts to the Professional Bowlers Tour by November to sate their desire for competition. Again.

This has to be up there with the Herschel Walker trade as one of the worst trades in the history of sports. Anyone want to give me TD/INT ratio of Denver QBs next year to not beat Jay Cutler? I didn't think so.

The only thing the Cutler trade will do is make people forget about the Vikings. Had they gotten him, they would've likely been the NFC favorites. WIth Tavaris Jackson, they're just another team.
