scuds that is truly a great point "low percentage connections often make stupid choices" when I have a toss up between a few horses after 'capping.. Owner/trainer/jockey combinations and %'s usually make the decision pretty clear.... good trainers place their charges well...

So, I really don't understand trying to run her against open maidens like that. You only have so many races in a career. Why waste one against competition that's too tough? They can't find a restricted Cal Bred filly race on the turf ? Each time you run one of these horses where they don't belong, you're chances of them getting hurt increase. She ran o.k. against CAL BRED fillies. She didn't win. So, why did they try open company today? I'm sorry, I just think low percentage connections often make stupid choices. Ran her against winners in her 1st try. Ran her against million dollar horses in her 3rd try. Tell them to wake the fk up.
