What a dumb sport. It would be like if yesterday the SEC bought Western Kentucky, the Big Ten bought Cleveland State, the Pac 10 bought Gonzaga, and the Big East bought Siena.

And the Big East just put St John's up for claim----we couldn't even run in the A-10...Got beat by 6 lengths against Richmond

Some similarities. I don't think people really felt like this was the Prince and Baffert who brought the colt along to that point and definitely grumbled that they bought themselves a prospect/winner but the thing is, War Emblem was not the hottest prospect on 4 hooves at the time. He was still a 21-1 longshot. They bought themselves a Derby horse but not anything that was going to be 9-1 or better.
