![]() The options are Saratoga, Belmont and Flakes and there are pluses to all 3 . I suppose this thread is geared to horsemen, not folks looking for their next meal at Siros .

![]() One has higher purses, higher expenses to keep a horse there and tougher competition ... the other has lower purses, lower expenses to keep a horse there and softer competition.

![]() its a no brainer. F Lakes has lower purses and easier competition. Toga and Bel has tougher competition, prestige in winning at Toga and higher purses.
But I think you knew this already, so why ask |

![]() Since I live generally equidistant from all the NY tracks I'm leaning in the direction of cost effectiveness .

![]() Base at Flakes and ship to NYRA if you feel you have the proper quality. I'd let the quality of the stock dictate as most Flakes horses cannot compete at NYRA tracks. With modest stock, the Lakes is better. Why pay big bucks to get beat up? If you get ahold of a good horse, you can always ship in as Charlton Baker and Mike Lecesse do.
