Default Double Galore

Just broke his maiden in his fifth race at Hollywood on May 19. It was around two turns(8.5f), only beat 6 horses and was 4-1 for that race. He's bred, owned and trained by Myung Kwon Cho. Cho has been on the California circuit for many years and doesn't have a ton of horses. Never really had a "big horse", but is willing to take a shot, which is what he'd be doing here.

Double Galore is by Grand Slam out of the Summer Squall mare Squall Linda.

Hope that helps.

Here's his dosage profile if you're interested...

Dosage
Index 3.50
CD 0.94
Profile 7-3-8-0-0

With a Belmont Stakes (G1) that lacks the winner of either the Kentucky Derby (G1) or Preakness Stakes (G1), and the probable Belmont field seemingly growing smaller each day, it was like waiting for the other shoe to drop as to when a complete newcomer who has escaped all of the Triple Crown hype would emerge.
Credit breeder, owner and trainer Myung Kwon Cho with dropping the shoe with his decision to send his maiden winner, Double Galore, to the Belmont Stakes.

Certainly a colt who just won his first race in his fifth career start will be readily dismissed by the public when wagering begins on the theory that the dramatic class hike will simply be too much for the bay to overcome.

Still, in today's racing environment, many stranger things have happened, and consider that only a few days ago Dragon Dancer--still a maiden--finished second, a short head away from victory, in the Epsom Derby (Eng-G1), one of the world's most prestigious events.

Consider, too, that Cho may see more in his horse than meets the eye. In early 1990, Cho saw a D. Wayne Lukas trained colt entered for $40,000 in just his second career start. Cho purchased the son of Cox's Ridge, named Video Ranger, and went on to watch his investment finish second in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) to Mister Frisky (at odds of 36.70-to-1) as well as the Jersey Derby (G2), won by Yonder. Video Ranger also finished fourth to Unbridled in the 1990 Kentucky Derby (G1), more than justifying Cho's claiming a horse who had finished tenth in his debut.

Cho had a maiden a few years back(1997?) that he entered in the BC Juvenile by the name of Nationalore(?). I belive the horse finished third in the BC and may have been stakes placed in other races before breaking it's maiden. He was well into the six figures for earnings while still a maiden.

He's not your standard, by the book type trainer.

Tough to call him a front runner. Most he has run against are just slow. He fits a front runners profile by wilting down the lane.
