Do the stats mean as much? Dont think so.
You dont really want me to go back and look up all the things you said do you?

The wins comparison is so stupid I shouldnt respond but do you really think that it should have any impact on an evaluation of a player? Are his teammates his fault? Do you think they would have 40 wins if Kobe was there?
Stats are a measure of a players performance, wins are a measure of the organizations performance. His numbers are every bit as impressive now as they would be on a playoff team.

What more exactly does he need to do?

In essence, is pgardn saying that Calvin Johnson isnt as good as lets say, Santonio Holmes???

(my gripe for pgardn not listing the 6ers in his/her list )

Uh oh, Cannon is doing some thread searching. I've read the contents of ced thread, not pretty.

You mean the Tim Legler who stated before the year that the Mo Williams acquisition was extremely overrated and the Cavaliers would fall from their 4th seeding in the East last year behind teams such as Philadelphia certainly and others and they wouldn't improve on their 45 win season of a year ago?? (not that I remember or was paying attention when he spewed that stuff!!)

I wish Morty was around so we could talk about Lebron James and Mike Brown.

I will list them if you give the Spurs Iguanaobamalama.

He has not been asked to play defense.
He has some real issues with taking care of the ball, some of it might have to do with strength. He is far ahead because he is such a fundamentally sound shooter. The biggest impediment to his game is his lack of athleticism. He is slow footed and weak. Yes I would expect his quickness and strength to improve. Once he starts getting to the basket off the dribble he will be pure hell to cover because he is a pure shooter. But with an inability to penetrate on a consistent basis off the dribble he is a bit more handicapped as a shooter. People dont back off of him. You can put a athletic 6 foot 6 guy on him and get right in his grill. Get right on top of him. That hurts him a great deal right now imo. And that strong 6 foot 6 guy can push him to halfcourt if he tries to get on the blocks... hurts him a great deal. He also is playing on a team that is bad so he does pick up a good number of baskets when the game is already over.

I do see some similiarites between Durant and the early George Gervin except that Gervin could go to the basket (ABA Defense). Gervin also had very sharp elbows. I have not seen those from Durant yet (probably smart by him not to try this right now)

Hello

Once he is yours, his flaws will stick out like a mattocked thumb. You want nothing to do with him, esp at the price he is at.

I will go with your judgement because you see him a lot more than I do.
He really messed with the Spurs and outplayed Duncan.
I was really impressed with him athletically.

And of course Popovich thinks he can turn any player
into a team guy if he gets a chance to talk to him
and get a feeling for him.

Thats why Iverson was not even given a whiff by the Spurs
as a 2 guard when he was up for option. Iverson probably
did not want to come to Texas anyway, but Popovich
clearly wanted nothing to do with him. Popovich did want Jason
Kidd until he met Kidd's wife. This really upset Parker at the time.

I'd take Michael Beasley over Durant. Durant is going to end up being just like Rashard Lewis. A guy that can consistently get you 20-23 a night but very little else and won't be able to go inside at all. He's going to rely on the jumper and that's it. There is a place for him and there is never anything wrong with a guy that can get you 20-23 a night. But there are also quite a few guys around the league that could do it under the same circumstances that Durant has now

This was the King...

I think you got me mixed up with Glorious Mr. Cannon.

Look no further than last years playoff stats. He stunk it up. He is only effective, imo, when he's headed to the hoop. Cant shoot a high percentage shot for the life of him. He'll wow you about 8-10 games a year, and ruin all chances in the clutch a good portion of games as well. He should be locked up for turning down the deal we offered him last year and getting an extra 30 mil I believe. HORRIBLE investment. I'll ship him to you if and when I ship Cannon his cheesteaks if he takes the playoff bet.

Ok then.
We dont want him.

We need another big man to spell Duncan.
We did not even play him tonight. They say
its a sore knee. His knees are sore all the time.
Damn we cannot beat the Lakers with this team.
Unless another injury strikes...
the Lakers.

I want the cheesesteaks.

Andre is a great athlete but not a great basketball player. Mike D'antoni system type player. I think Philly screwed up by signing him to a long term contract when I dont know who else was offering him similar money for 7 years.

Yes I do.
I would like you to look it up.

King Glorious said he would be nothing but a Rashard Lewis (which
does not look so bad this year). I said he was not physically ready
and that he was relying way too much on jump shooting. But that he
is so young and so weak... yada yada.

What?
What?
Does this imply he would have these numbers on, for example,
(and not an example I like to use ), the Spurs. Do you think his stats
would be close to the same on the Spurs? ANswer hell no.

I will tell you right now a healthy, younger Ginobili could put up
huge numbers on almost any other team. NOT, on the Spurs.
Or lakers, celtics, but on OK city... hell yes.

Do your realize just how many possessions Ok city gets each game?
Do you think that has any effect on a players stats? In every single
category, every category it makes them go up cept minutes played...
You cant have missed that.

ANd you are right about what more can he do.
Nothing. Its not totally fair. He plays on a crappy team that gets killed
every other night so stats tell us... I withold judgement
except he is so young, so long, and such a beautiful
player (I love his shot).
