No, he'll just say he doesn't agree(or that the jock was following orders perfectly.) Then, he'll eat something. This jock is improving, but you can't rely on him during any one particular race. He makes mistakes, and they do tend to come while on a logical horse(that's certainly not my characterization of this particular animal.)

Wow, kinda harsh. I think the kid is pretty good. I was also on the #8 in the finale today, and agree, was not happy with the ride. But I have seen him do many good things as well.

The fact that he gets good mounts speaks volumes about the jock colony out there. Hell...didnt Michael Baze win a riding title out there? Frightening....

There are plenty of better jocks in that colony

WHich is it

1 there are plenty of Jocks better than Joel

or

2 he gets good mounts because the jockey colony is not as good as he is.

The colony is less than stellar.....ergo...he gets good mounts. I guess props go out to VS for actually getting trainers to ride him when there are guys like Epsinoza,Bejarano,Gomez, and Kayla Stra who are much better jocks than him.

I mentioned this in trip notes, his ride on Ventana in the San Pedro stakes on 1/19/09 was a ride that simply needs to be seen to believed.
