there are some differences no doubt depending on what state you're in. but to hire a lawyer if there is no negligence imo would be a waste of money to pay the lawyer. if the company he worked for had everything right, then i don't think he has the ability to sue-and that would make having a lawyer a waste.

like i said, if WC pays out like they're supposed to, i wouldn't take it further.

You don't know what you don't know.....a consultation isn't gonna do much damage. There's many things involved in WC...like retraining, education benefits and such....I know from experience about timely deadlines, missed opportunities.

Scuds tore his pitching batting practice to Manny.
Imagine Manny walking away from all that
perfect stuff allowing
him to acquire the perfect timing.
And Scuds is now on the disabled batting practice
pitcher's list. 7-13 weeks.

And you think you hurt...

No, my throwing arm(much less pitching) was really poor. I could hit, but my throwing was about as accurate as some of those throws by Furcal in that last loss to the Phils.

have a friend (iron worker) who's had one done twice and waiting to have the good one done for the first time. meds up the a$$ and still hurts. 3 hrs therapy 3X/week but he still wants to be healthy and back to work if and when Chi gets the Oympics. Light at the end of the tunnel I guess. A good lawyer will take you on contingency so those who want any payment I'd run from. Go w/a large firm rather than a one man operation and look out for vans and suvs w/tinted windows on days you feel good. GL

when my mom hurt the second shoulder (first one was because their 100 pound dog bolted after a squirell and she wouldn't let go), she was at work (special ed teacher) she was "restraining" one of the kids (an autistic child that had tantrums etc), because she did everything by the book the school had to pay for everything and she received a large disability check on top of it....she never asked for anything other then her medical bills payed for and never consulted a lawyer....I guess it all depends what kind of company you work for. When she got the disability check she was already back at work (although in a limited capacity since she was not able to physically intervene when needed)....she approached them about giving the money back and was told that it was policy and to just keep it.
