It was a great tournament made even better by getting to spend time with fellow DTers. I finished a respectable 43rd overall which was a personal best and the big Magna 5 score certainly was a thrill.

To those here who have never played in handicapping contests you are missing the boat. Contests are the best bet in racing as many allow you to overcome the biggest obstacle to winning in this game--namely takeout. Many contests even have positive expectations.

Beyond that, playing in the NHC is a thrill beyond description. This was my fourth one and the thrill doesn't get any less.

I urge everyone to join the NHC tour and try to get a spot in next year's event.

Paul

I'm glad you guys have fun! Sounds like a great time, and a big challenge.

I wish qualifying was easier... in that it was more accessible.

For someone like me, I'm tied to LAD from January until March, and May until October. Factor in some holidays and meet-prep time, very little wiggle room.

I understand there are many on-line contests that get you in. Anyone know where to get a list? There's something like 20-30 online ways to get there.

I'm definately going to try this year. Hearing the stories from you guys and my friend Fred, it's a must do.

Not attempting to hijack the thread, but wanted to share a Vegas story from last nite.

Location: MGM Craps table

Guy on one end of the table rolls the dice for over 30 mins. Husband and wife on other end of the table playing separately go on the most incredible run I have ever witnessed in person. The wife cashes in for over $20 GRAND and her husband's final total was over $49 GRAND.

Dave, not as good, as my final tally was a mere $300.

Last year was first try at tournaments. Looking forward to hitting a few this year too. It is very exciting, the crowd is awesome. Can't wait to do it again.

I can't even imagine what it must be like in Vegas. I've yet to qualify for one of those.
