![]() I am never gunna understand Kent. In my book, you play to win, and you can't win unless the team is "one." If he wanted a ring, he needed to worry about one thing....the team. Not whether someone came late, or early to the game. There are reasons why there are managers and coaches. One of them is to be critical of players, and make them get better. If players are doing that to each other, right away, it separates the team into separate parts. You want wholeness(one heart.) I feel Kent would have a ring if he and Barry Bonds were "one" when they played together. They got caught up in rules, and procedure. One wanted less, and the other wanted more. Both are A-holes, and that's why neither will get a ring...ever.

![]() I believe guys like Jeff Kent and T.O have questionable character but will be elected to their respective Hall of Fames. Using character as a yard stick is a slippery slope.
Mark McGwire looks like he's doomed. Roger Clemens is tarnished but he gets in. Barry Bonds, more than tarnished, but probably gets in. Pete Rose seems to have little chance in his lifetime. I guess the only way to treat a lot of these types is to allow them in, but be sure to keep one hand free for holding your nose. |
