God bless you, and God bless all these we have lost. I am man enough to admit that I have shed a tear or two for some on this list. It is the one soul-crushing facet of this game.....everyone should remember win or lose, this game is about the HORSES!!!!!!!

Very nice tribute.
Way too many on this list and others who are not.

Thank you Miss Storm Cat for this post. As we all gear up for the new year with, looking forward with our resolutions and such, your post gives us a real opportunity to look back and reflect on 2008. It is such a long list with so many losses. Let's hope 2009 is better.

Thanks again.

When you are sorrowful
look into your heart
and you shall see that
you are weeping
for that which has been
your delight
~ Kahlil Gibran

Such a long list this year of those that have brought us so much joy and delight, some in tragedy and some at the end of a long life.
Thank you MMSC for reminding us of those that we lost and hopefully will not be forgotten.

I'm not sure if this is appropriate here and feel free to edit it...but I would like to mention the excersise riders and jockey that were tragically lost this year. I mention them as they are the people that get up every day to ride for our joy and delight.
