the Into Mischief and Georgie Boy.

BBJ seems to have a special affinity for Santa Anita, and of course the track was super fair today compared to the fall which should not be overlooked. Makes beating Indian Blessing pretty improbable.

This Santa Anita was a different course than he ran over last winter.

It seems like the popular opinion on Santa Anita Pro Ride course is front runners can't hold on. Perhaps that might have happened in the fall when the temps were almost summer like. I was told that they had rain in So Cal the past few days. It didn't rain much during the OakTree meet. Maybe moisture in the track and/or cooler tempuratures changes things. We'll find out in the coming weeks.

As far as Bob Black Jack I believe it came down to the basics. He was the quickest horse who had no peers as front runners. When a speed horse sets his own pace he or she is tough to run down. The closers are running for second and in this case that is exactly what happened.

2 year olds (in the 6th, and the 3rd races) ran faster for 4f. What would you expect a decent 3 year old stakes horse do with a clear lead going slower than 2 year olds can go? Went about as fast (for the 1st 4f) as the 25 claimer Indian Weaver did in the the 5th. Rosario n' Bejarano took back at the start(cuz of what they saw G Ponti do in the 7th.) Georgie Boy looks done(to be honest.) I have no idea why Victor was way off of about the pace that a 25 claimer ran earlier. G PONTI's race from the very back got these guys over-thinking. They saw raters win the previous 2 sprints. That combined with G PONTI coming from dead last (and drawing away) messed with their heads. Trainer says B JACK can now rate. We will find out. He's not gunna be getting away that slowly anytime soon.

I agree all the way, the third race was a stronger race buy a first time starter but what do you want me to say to the poster when I was completely wrong on BBJ? I will be against the winner against better sprinters next month.

Tell him he got a nice break, and to enjoy it. Tell him to send Bejarano, and Rosario some (since they both had horse early n' strangled them so Flores could stick his tongue out late.) The problem with thoroughbred stakes racing is the horses aren't physically able to take much racing. So, a lot of times people don't want to run a rabbit of their own. They're selfish sonbitches that rely on others to keep speed from getting away easily. They see a couple other horses with some speed and assume they are gunna go. Then, they run some races, and see only lone speed is hanging on. So, they refuse to do their job, because they now know that they have no shot at winning(if they make the dominant speed run a decent pace.) The 3rd race was a true test. That 2 year old was impressive, and got no break up front. All this information for sale is totally useless if they let the speed cakewalk on a slow pace. You really don't know whether they are gunna make them run an honest half, but determining a winner totally depends on that. Look at the genius in the racing form(FREE.) His last sentence (about the race) is that such n' such horse is gunna push BJ. Mid-race, the horse was not pushing at all(game over ...lone lead on a 4f in 44'4.)
