Americans need to realize that both parties are extremely corrupt and they are the reason why this country is on the verge of collapse. When you have a senate seat for sale for a million bucks it is basically an admittance that Washington is a place where kickbacks are king and honesty is nil.

I couldn't agree more. But when looking for change look outside of Chicago, Cook County or even Illinois for that matter sans Patrick Fitzgerald.

Daley ( and others) wants/wanted Fitzgerald gone, but Bush won't move him.

If he isn't Attorney General some day, I'll be surprised.

There are retired Judges up here that want him moved. Lol

On another note Durbin urged Obama to keep him here. I think he's here until at least the end of the Blago thing. Meanwhile I'm sure he is drving by Daley's house and friends of Da Mayor. If this was bowling, Fitz is in the ninth frame with a perfect game going. Makes you wonder what the previous US Attys in Chicago were doing?

I think this is overstating it a bit. Do we have more than our fair share of political corruption in this state? You bet. But there have been plenty of people that I think are pretty decent (at least by the standards of politicians) that have come out of Illinois politics in recent decades as well....from both parties. Jim Edgar (R), and Paul Simon (D) come to mind.

As for Blago, he was almost universally reviled here by members of both parties even BEFORE the latest scandal. His approval rating was at 13%. Leading Democrats in the state like Lisa Madigan and Jesse White had already publicly broken from him. The guy is a complete joke and everybody already knew it.
Blago will probably be going to prison. So did our last governor. That is pretty remarkable, but it doesn't automatically mean that every politician that comes out of Chicago should be tainted with their nonsense. There have been at least a few that don't do things that way.
