Axelrod had worked for Blagojevich in his past races for the House, but he declined to work on his gubernatorial run.

"He had been my client and I had a very good relationship with him, but I didn't sign on to the governor's race," Axelrod told the New Yorker. "Obviously he won, but I had concerns about it...I was concerned about whether he was ready for that. Not so much for the race but for governing. I was concerned about some of the folks -- I was concerned about how the race was being approached."

And the link is not a lefty puff piece...It quotes Obama plenty endorsing Blago...as almost every Dem did at that time.

if that's true, then channel 5 screwed up their newscast last night and this afternoon. I hope Barack isn't dragged into any of the indictments, unless he's absolutely 100% guilty without a shadow of doubt (which I don't believe to be the case). However, Rahm and Axelrod are about as straight as a 3-dollar bill, especially Rahm. Even Clinton's on camera saying that he'll double talk or double cross you if it's to his benefit.
