It's a beautiful, cold, sunny day in central Kentucky. Went out early this morning to get the roadworking miles done, three dogs individually, then walked one. Can't beat the countryside view, trotting with the dogs past fields filled with maturing yearlings, and broodmares getting fatter in anticipation of foaling out in a few months. Later today the traditional and fattening turkey dinner, then tomorrow to Churchill Downs to see Rampillion run in her second race, fingers crossed.

Looking back over the years, I can't remember a Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday when the horses and dogs didn't need their attentions first, or when we weren't outside for at least part of the day, on a horse or behind a dog.

Life is good, and animals and the outdoors just make it better. Tons better. We're so lucky to have them. Happy Thanksgiving!

...And best wishes to all that are working today to keep the country running. I sincerely hope that those out there that must continue on their normal paths of employment have a safe, happy, and productive Thanksgiving...

Well since the great white north had Thanksgiving well over 6 weeks ago we wish our friends across the border a safe and happy holiday with you and yours. Good luck to us tomorrow and safe trip for Rappy!
