High Finance won ridden out. Three cracks of the whip at the eighth-pole ... then a hand ride. He went much more easily than Henny Hughes in the early part ... and closed much faster because of the encouragement.

Henny won more easily and carried five more pounds ... a better effort ... but not by all that much.

Very true, and another primary factor for me is that henny was pushed early by better horses, which counts for a lot in my book...the stress of competition being at a higher level always gives a better class account than the time for me....
