With all due respect, if Tim Tebow is your idea of what a good QB is, I am confident that my opinion of McNabb is right on the money.

I can think of very few QB's that have accomplished what Mcnabb has accomplished with as little as he has had to work with. Besides T.O for 1.5 seasons, what big time receievers did he have? When westbrook is out (which is often), who is the running back? Buckhalter? Are you kidding me?

The only QB in recent memory that i can think of that did more with less was Tom Brady.

I hope it happens. Man has been either hurt or HORRIBLE since the '04-'05 seaon Superbowl. He also chokes on dicks.

We had some success, but not real success (as in a CHAMPIONSHIP) for a few years earlier on in the decade.

You cant keep a bad performer around forever, no matter what happened 4-7 years ago. This aint like Joe-Pa where you can just stick him up in a booth.. this guy isnt giving us a chance to win football games now.

are you really judging Kolb off of a second half performance against one of the better d's in the league?

I kind of think it is unfair to Kolb. Its not like he was named starter and took all the 1st team snaps in practice. He was tossed into a situation against a real good defence and didnt do very well. Did the same shitty job McNabb had done in the first half.

Kolb has showed lots of promise in the pre-season, he is smart and has a good arm. I am very willing to give him a whole season under center before I judge how he will turn out to be as an NFL QB.

i agree with the selection being a bit random.. but we'll see how it plays out.

How the heck can someone with 3 superbowl rings, and arguably the most clutch player in sports besides Tiger Woods be compared to a man to chokes in high pressure situations.

But the name of the game is Championships - nothing else matters, especially to Philly fans. McNabb is a first class choke artist and cant handle high pressure situations - talent means nothing to me when you cant make anything come of it. the Philadelphia Eagles will never win a Superbowl with McNabb behind center.

(I'll stick with DM) jay feely and Jeff Garcia (both times they were in for multiple games when DM was hurt the offense played much better as a unit - and for some reason Fat ass reids playcalling was better during those periods - for what reason I have no idea).

Randall was actually a pretty good QB but if you are going to stick the "choke" label on Mcnabb, what would that make cunningham????????

Jaworski played during your lifetime. Compare his numbers to Mcnabb's. Mcnabb was better all of the way around.

Perhaps Mcnabb needs to move on and maybe he will get some much deserved credit. I can say the same for Andy Reid who is about as fine of a coach as there is in the league.

What is the definition of a choke? To me, its when you have a situation where you should easily win and you fail to get it done. How many of those situations was Philly in during that run of four straight NFC championships? On the road as dogs against St Louis, the greatest show on turf? No, they should have lost that game. At home against Carolina? Maybe they should have won that but remember Mcnabb played that one with broken ribs. Interestingly enough, earlier in that playoffs he made one of the most clutch throws in NFL playoff history by converting on 4th and 26 against the packers. At home against Tampa Bay? That Tampa Bay team rolled through everyone to a superbowl. They could play that game ten times and the results would have been the same. The other one they won. Are you saying they "choked" in the superbowl as SEVEN POINT UNDERDOGS????????

They never "choked" they simply got beat by better teams. They should be applauded for getting there four straight with inferior talent at skill positions as opposed to being labelled as chokers.

Same thing with the Buffalo Bills of the early 90's.

First time they choked, no doubting that and I'm not just pinning that on Norwood. Andre Reed had some huge drops and they should have put the Giants away early when up 12-3 with the ball and 6 minutes to play in the first half. They were huge favorites and admittedly partied way too hard that week leading up to the Super Bowl (one of the few Super Bowls played with one week between the conference championship game and Super Bowl).

You are correct on the other three times. Everyone remembers how good those Dallas teams were but often forgotten is that 1991-1992 Redskins that is certainly among the five best single season teams of my lifetime.

The Eagles problem right now is the play-calling. You can't throw the ball 50 times again and expect to win. You got to use the run game. Something that has eluded this team at least in the last 2 games. This is all on Andy Reid. Stop being one dimensional.

It is so funny how people want to attribute everything in a sport that starts 22 guys (plus special teams) to the QB. Vinatieri misses two long (truly clutch) field goals and Brady would have been thought of very differently going into last year. Norwood makes the kick Vinatieri is and Kelly is thought of very differently historically. The whole clutch argument is always so overused in team sports.
