I guess Obama unlocked the celler where he must have had Jessie Jackson and Rev. Al locked up for the last month or two. He probably let them out after he locked up Ohio. Those two have been uncharacteristically quiet during the stretch run.

Excellent point. We haven't heard much from those two hoodlums in quite awhile. Both will probably secure cabinet positions though.

Obama didn't want them around, campaigning for, or endorsing him. They certainly would be a liability

Now that Obama is elected, I would be stunned to see him use Sharpton. I would not be stunned to see him use Jackson, in a useless, do nothing role, perhaps. But, using Jessie Jackson would be a token gesture of respect that Jessie Jackson does not deserve, not after what he said in front of the "hot" mic

Jesse put his foot in his mouth (again), he really is a decent guy and an icon of the civil right's movement but his time has past now (sorta like me). His son is doing well in politics and would be a much better choice. Obama wants unity so I can't see him using Al or Jesse and they would both polarize. Dr King always liked Jesse so that's good enough for me but again, appointing Jesse to anything meaningful would be like making Minister Farrakhan part of the government.

Not in public, but he's being credited for changing the way the game is played in the primaries as far as fund raising and the Internet. He's still the Democratic National Chairman
