McCain has an uphill fight to say the least. But imagine how angry I'd be if I helped to put the other guy in office when he and the filibuster-proof Democratic Congress ramrod every stupid idea they have down our throats.

That's it. Just expressing an opinion, though many here may disagree. That is your right...at least until Obama may take office.

Try to soak in all the memories you can of the freedom you once had.

It's this "End of the World as we know it" paranoia that people really feel will happen if Barack wins that gets me. Obviously there are differences of opinions on issues and that will always exist. But to think that our freedoms will be less if he wins? If you are Pro-choice, Pro gay rights, pro seperation of church and State one might think that McCain winning will actually lessen our freedoms.

How is thinking that McCain will take away freedoms from gays and non-religious folks less paranoid? I see no evidence that he is anti-gay or very steeped in religion, or further that his faith would influence his performance in the office.

He is pro-life, so insomuch as Supreme Court selections are concerned, then yes, you might have disagreement. This is equally true for pro-lifers vis-a-vis Obama and his Supreme Court nominations.

It comes down to defense, law enforcement, low taxes, and otherwise a non-interference with citizens in their pursuit of happiness - right, left, gay, straight, whatever -- preserving the free country we have, while protecting us from those who really are a threat.

McCain will appoint Supreme Court judges like Scalia, Roberts, etc. THEY worry me. Palin is Pat Buchananon with boobs..SHE scares the hell out of me.

You mention a lot of topics that we probably disagree on politically..that's cool. Most of my friends are Republican and based on how much more money I'll be paying taxes if Barack wins, I probably should be too. But, the World will keep spinning if he wins and the paranoia and drama from the right equals how I felt 8 years ago when Bush won...except I was right to feel that way.

Well, Im not ready to give up freedom in the name of freedom. Somehow that doesnt make sense. Thats like beating your kids for playing rough.

The last eight years have been about fear...im ready for hope. If it doesnt work out, we can choose someone else in four years. I dont need four years to figure out that McCain is four more years of Bush.
