I had the Stardom Bound-Dream Empress exacta for $10 on Friday and win bets on Donativum and Conduit on Saturday to save me. Once it was said and done, I was up $14 for the 2 days.

I had my best Cup day by far.. SPent many hours Wed thru Friday handicapping and about 5 hours on Sat planning my bets.
I focused on the P3's and went pretty deep on multiple tickets. Hit quite a few and some winners were losers Was in position to
cash 4 pick 4's and 2 pick 3's in the classic but Raven's Pass cleared away those chips. Highlights

R1) 1,5,9 Ex Box 665.00
R1) 4,5,6,7/6,8,9,11,13,14/1,7,8,9 P3 > 5261.50
R2) 6,8,9,11,13,4/3,6,7,8,9,10/2,4,6 > 1181.9

congrats.
but how did you have desert code?? i went back and looked at the pps after the race, and still didn't see anything. i think they said his was the second biggest bc payoff behind arcangues-i don't think anyone will ever top that payoff.

i told my husband (we're about to have to plan vacations for next year, he has to turn in his dates by nov 1) that i wanted to go to the bc next year....he said whatever. but i doubt we do it. maybe i'll just make the trip to hot springs or go down to la to make bets.

Same for me with Desert Code except for the fact that he had been going a route of ground which helped at the end with the speed being out of gas. I had the exacta pounded with 6/8 and die when Mig split horses to beat me.

I was looking for a similar type horse but landed on Storm Treasure. Got my show money, at least. My first pick was Diabolical. A typical exacta for me - finished second and third.

That race screamed CLOSER and Storm Treasure was the one. I try to find the turf miler and just couldn't see Desert Code as that horse. Stupid me.

I bet Desert Code because he had a very good record on the course and had a jock familiar with the downhill run. If he was 10-1 i probably wouldnt have bet him but at 30-1 (his odds when I bet) he was a good play. It is a tricky course for horses and riders and Mig made a huge move by saving ground crossing over the main and angling out. That wasnt exactly the trip I envisioned for the horse but it did work.

I stop giving my $$ after the 3rd race...I could see it was going to be "one of those" days for me and I was better off keeping my $$ in the bank.

(Plus, I was a bit distracted to concentrate on what was going on anyhow. )

Personally, I think it was like just a tad too many races...Breeder's Cup is'nt what is has been for me in years past thats for sure.. Could almost give 2
sh!ts anymore....sad.

I got completely hosed all weekend.

Was right about a couple of things but couldn't seal the deal on them. Singling Ventura got me live into a trio of BIG pick-3s in the JF Turf, but none of my runners were anywhere to be found after turning for home.

It was a fun weekend, I just didn't get any of the little breaks I needed to cash some tickets.

The horse ranked very high (2nd) on the PaceFigures program I use in certain categories, and as Steve mentioned several times on ATR , the local horses & jocks who know the course should have an advantage, Thanks Steve :

Not true- that isn't even the highest Hofmans payoff- he had Adoration that paid close to $100 back in '03.

I was money on Friday and miserable on Saturday. Had a few winners but didn't construct winning tickets.

Too much of my money went through Fabulous Strike in the Sprint.
