I just meant that he has never run in a stakes race. He has faced some good individual horses, but he has never faced an entire field of quality horses. Having your stakes debut in a GI classic is pretty tough.

In most cases I would agree with you, but this is a weak Belmont and very evenly matched....

I hope I'm not wrong, but I don't like him to win. Although he is supposedly bred to get this distance, I'm not seeing that in his dosage profile. I just don't think that this horse has the talent to wire the field when he has never been over a mile before.

Bernardini had never been 2 turns, that worked out okay...

JMO, but I think that Bernardini is a more talented horse than High Finance AND furthermore, when you look at his dosage profile, it is better suited for longer races. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be playing this horse this weekend. I'll take my chances I suppose.

I don't believe in dosage, voodoo if you ask me, Bernardini is definitely more talented than High Finance, but Bernardini is not running and there's no world beaters in here....

You're right about that... it really is anyone's race at this point.

He is a much better horse now than he was then. I think he ran a 103 Beyer in his last. He is going to wire the field.

He is growing on me, I must say. Right now I'm thinking of a 5 horse tri box - High Finance, Bluegrass Cat, Deputy Glitters, Steppenwolfer, and either Jazil or Oh So Awesome or Bob and John...hmmmm decisions decisions

I almost completely agree with you! My four favorite horses in this race are Steppenwolfer, Deputy Glitters, High Finance and Bluegrass Cat. I am a little bit scared by Sunriver however. I notice that you didn't even mention him as a possiblity for your tri box. Why are you tossing him?

Can't really see Sunriver winning, he was all out against Lewis Michael, the race was paceless, but it was very unimpressive...

Sunriver winning in a paceless race is a positive from where I sit. He also closed at Gulfstream on a day where nobody else made a move all day. I may have squeezed all I can out of him taking a shorter than expected price in the Peter Pan, but Pletcher has this one running as good as anyone in this race.

As for High Finance, the reason he hasn't run more than 8f yet is because they don't card many maiden races at those distances. I'll toss him confidently.

High Finance will have zero problem with the distance. He will win in a walk just like his broodmare sire Conquistador Cielo. If the track is wet it will be an even bigger margin.

I was at Keeneland the day he won, the track was slow and not favoring speed, his race was impressive...
