As a (hopefully not professional, this's been going on far too long) student I forget my schedule's a little weird and not everyone's got the same times free. I don't live anywhere near a racetrack being in a non-betting state so whenever racing's on tv, everything comes to a screeching halt as my family knows. Once when I was a kid we had to travel somewhere on Belmont day and I dragged my dad into a Sears to watch the race on a tv in their electronics section. When I was a cashier I planned my days off around my birthday and the Triple Crown. I can say if the chance to see Zenyatta in my backyard came up, it would literally take wild horses to keep me away but I suppose some of y'all have seen her and some of these horses already, you've been to Santa Anita before. Myself, I'm a bit like a desert getting droplets of water when I get to see a horse race. It brings a new level to the term "absorbed." |
