Did you see the bad throw portion? Pena cant let that ball go through him. You come off the base to block it to keep the winning run on 1st. Like i said bad throw but you cant ole it like Pena did. It is HIS responsibility to keep the ball in front of him or make the catch. hell they teach you that in grade school baseball.

Your right this time......it didn't turn out to matter here, but you have to stop that runner from getting into scoring position.....

De Ja Vu all over again

The Sox still don't likely win but that was pure heart tonight for the boys....

yes. You never put the winning run on 2nd with 2 outs because the runner gets a running start on contact which pretty much makes it impossible to throw him out on a single.

Tampa not having a real closer really cost them tonight. I really dont know why he doesnt use Jackson more. I know it is a tough time to put a guy in a new role, but Jackson can bring it.

If by 'it' you mean the complete inability to throw strikes, then I agree. He can bring it.

Did we have a little Game 6 1986 WS here tonight......

All I know as a Red Sox fan Game 7 of the Mets-Sox Series was a forgone conclusion.....let's see if the Rays feel the noose tighten abit.

This has to hurt to lose a game you had 7-0 with 2 out that ends up 8-7 without extra innings.

This one has to leave a mark....

Make up your ****ing mind. Either the Sawx are still probably not going to win or this is the '86 World Series all over again.

I still think Tampa wins but of course the Red Sox fan wants to imagine a thrilling victory in 7 games....I didn't think about the effect of game 6 in the 1986 series until later ......

You could see the noose getting tight from the 7th inning on. I am not gonna say the Rays cannot win this thing still, because they sure can. But, like you said, this leaves a mark, and it's in the back of their heads. This is what makes baseball great!

*puts on anti-mush hat*

I'd agree with the notion that this loss is going to hang over the heads of the Rays if they were a bunch of veterans whose window of opportunity was closing. These guys, however, are young and don't seem to give a crap about the last pitch, let alone the last game. If the Red Sox win the next two games, it'll be because they play better, not because the Rays are "devastated," IMO.
