13 replies. not one with a good thing obama will do.

as for the drunk teenager thing....you could say that you would keep the car on the road, that would say you're the better driver without saying what the teen would/would not do.

i think most think the best thing obama would do is not be bush.

pretty much dead on accurate for me.

he has some intellectual heft and isn't afraid to hear a contrary opinion. he has a realistic world view and understands the limits of hard power.

as for his intelligence, we could use a lot of common sense in our leaders as well. we can't buy groceries with philosophy.

OK................. Obama proposes a tax cut for the Middle Class - How much can I expect to get?

I mean is it like $2000? Because that will work, but if it is something like $20 I can't get too excited.

Does anybody know?

lol
as much as CONGRESS wants to give you. that's why i shake my head every four years about the presidential elections. all the president can do is ask congress to bring about legislation, tax cuts, increases, etc. it's up to your representatives and senators to work out the details. the president only has veto power over what they send him. he can sign it, or not. just like the president has to ask permission to wage war, for treaty approval, etc. too many people think the president can do far more than he actually can.
i still think we should have term limits in congress, and the president should have line item veto powers.

Technically this is incorrect. The president needs the authority of congress to "declare war". However, the president can recognize a "state of war" and bomb anyone he wants without permission from congress.
