Was Sage Rosenfels plays at the end of the Houston/indy game largely responsible for the loss? Yes. Was it his coach's fault for putting his team in that situation by leaving the ball in the QB's hands up 17 with 5 minutes to go?

Was Shanahan's decision to go for 2 the "right" move? It worked. But i think that was dumb.

Was the squeeze a "moronic" play? no. I never contended that it was. My point was only that he was taking a huge risk that he didnt need to take.

Was it the sole reason they lost the game? Of course not. But i would say that it was the biggest play. If Shields goes out and pitches the 9th clean, then I admit that its not as big of a deal. but i still think he pitches differently with a lead and the Sox hitters hit differently knowing that they blew a late lead and if they dont perform they have to fly back to LA.
Why didnt you make this point in the first place? Your points are very valid ones and the play is always a risky one but I am of the school of failed execution over strategy. By the way there is zero chance he pitches in the 9th with the lead. Shaky or not, Krod has to be the one who closes it.
