In other words, I think that even though Colonel John will probably like the track, he's just not fast enough to win a race like this, and that is saying something this year.

isn't showing up one to be considered? he is still around, isn't he? or am i thinking of go between...

I think Henry the Navigator would be a huge bet against in this spot, being that he isn't in that good of form now anyway, and probably belongs in the (turf) mile.
The biggest X factor will be Casino Drive. I think he's scheduled to go in an allowace race at Santa anita in the next week or so.

It would be nice if they keep CJ training for next year. If he matures well the 09 BC would be more likely. All these other horses are hoping Zenyatta runs on Firday.

the biggest?? come on, the horse has run twice. it's ridiculous the amount of attention this horse gets, for doing nothing other than being dropped by a good mare.

I meant the biggest X factor as how much money he'll take and how he affects the odds of the top 3 or 4 contenders.
The Peter Pan didn't really turn out to be a key race, but if he freaks and wins for fun in an allowance race at Santa Anita, he could take a lot of money on BC day.

i don't think he'll draw much attention to be honest with you. he only got press leading up to the belmont because of his siblings, neither of which showed a predilection for synthetics.

Some may disagree but I still think his Peter Pan was one of the best 3yo performances this season.
