By the way, someone posted on another board that she got an 87.

SB really was impressive despite the so-so Beyer. I love this filly and she was actually doing running at the end; it wasn't just a matter of the fillies in front collapsing. I still have my doubts about how she's going to hold up against once the later-developing fillies start coming out of the woodwork because her running style is more conducive to runner up finishes than to wins. She sure is fun to watch, though.

Agreed, Betsy.

Bill Finley dismissed her Saturday morning (he also thought Zenyatta would get beat). That was enough for me.

I refuse to put numbers on what she did. They don't do her justice.

Problem is she hasn't exactly shown a willingness to go through an opening in the stretch run and in a 14 horse field will wind up having a tough time in the stretch in the BC Juv Fillies. Has the look of the fast closing 2nd or 3rd place finisher that may be clearly the best but won't win.

Didn't she just win in a 12-horse field, without any significant traffic problems, from the 2 hole, on the very same track and distance as the BC?

Will 2 extra horses really make that much difference?

Watch all her races, she hasn't got there in time everytime. Those two extra horses could easily be the difference.

I think she just gets better over time. Heck, she's only run 4-5 times and she's a 3YO.

With that style she has every right to improve. Still think she's a monster.

I'm not sure I agree that she won't go through an opening. You probably won't ever see her try to because her jock likes to take the overland route. She just got beat in her debut on the head bob, looked like she hesitated as she caught the frontrunners.

In her 2nd start, a Grade 2 race, she was up a bit closer than in her previous. Was that of Smith's choosing or was she just a little sharper 2nd time out (maybe we can as the Wiz about that)? I don't know, but either way it seems to have blunted her stretch rally in the only race she was soundly defeated. Also, the stretchout in distance is in her favor.

Smith employed the sit back, loop the field, and inhale them down the lane approach (that he's very comfortable with) in the last pair and has two Grade 1 wins to show for it. I don't think he'll be changing that plan in the BC, so the only thing she'll have to overcome tripwise is moving a bit wide into the home stretch; her main obstacle will be running into a flat out faster filly if there is one.

I'm not saying she won't, I'm just saying she hasn't shown it yet and considering the likely odds in the BC I think she'll be a good horse to play against in multi-race bets even if she may be the best in the field on Pro-Ride.

One of those races was a 5/12 furlong race and she just missed by a nose. I actually didn't think she ran that well in the Sorrento, but she did still come rallying to finish 3rd. It's not just the distance, it seems it's the added racing that is helping her.

If she runs like she ran Saturday, they could put 23 in against her and she'd still wn for fun. Right now, she reminds me of Halfbridled, and looked Saturday like a 2yo version of Zenyatta. She got to the front in a half dozen jumps with Smith only smooching at her. Once there, she was looking at the infield video screen and the stands while opening up lengths.

She's set to be sold after the BC, which kind of makes me nervous. It just sounds so unsettled...........

weak division and her being a monster, makes her most likely winner of the entire breeders cup weekend....
i would love to try to beat her, but with who ? ? ?
