The Jet defense is strong when they're not playing on a short field, and when they can actually get some pressure on the QB. Rivers wasn't touched during that entire circus last night.

The Jets spent some big bucks in the offseason. Mangina will be on the hot seat if they miss the playoffs this year. There is no excuse for how bad they were last night.

I agree that we don't have many alternatives, but I would like to see them put in Ratliff and see what he can do. He was not bad with Utah.

Maybe playing some D Monday night might have helped too? You can't have thought he would stop throwing INts just because he changed jerseys..He is who he is...but to wish for Vinny T instead I think is a little reactionary

Really? A 1-2 start and already we're benching the QB, firing the coach and writing off the season?

The schedule is cake save for a few games and there have been some good things to build on. Everyone take a breath.

I just don't think the Jets have the personnel (mainly at WR) to be a powerhouse offensive team. I also believe that Favre is still learning the playbook at this point, but he isn't the answer to the teams woes anyway. He is just a short term fix that will try to get them to the playoffs and make the fans forget about the PSL's. Reguardless he/they were bad in the first half last night. As far as the D goes, they seem to be good at stopping the run and have a few potential good ones in the secondary. But they just do not get enough pressure on the QB.
But it was mentioned already. Looking at the schedule this is where everyone thought they would be 1-2. They were a play or two away from being 2-1 or even 0-3. Next week at home against the Cards is one they need.

The question is will Favre make it thru the whole year with that O-line? He is gettting hammered and that old body is going to give out at some point. He has always thrown interceptions and will continue to do so. Limited running game, terrible o-line, 2 decent WR's and a bad defense will make for a long, long year for Brett. He should have took the $20 million and stayed home

The O-Line has been a disappointment so far, but it's far from terrible. Favre has other good WR's in Smith and Stuckey, plus starter caliber TE's in Keller and Baker. The defense is not bad and Brett will be fine. We got beaten up by a desperate team that many had winning the Super Bowl before the season. Not quite as rough as, say, losing 38-13 to the Dolphins at home.

If Arizona beats us Sunday, then I agree, push the panic button. If that doesn't happen, it's absurd to write off a 2-2 team heading into a bye followed by games against Cincinnati (home), Oakland, Kansas City (home), Buffalo and St. Louis (home).

As a fellow long-suffering Jet fan, I of course am not ruling that out. All I'm saying is it's way early to be making judgments on the season, especially with the stretch of games they have coming up.
