Victoria by turning their races into a world wide product created a hell of alot of money that flowed on to the clubs eg with a million dollar up grade of the track this year & a increase of prize money by 7% I think prizemoney for the cup alone is now up to 5 mil. So while i can see what you are talking about where the greedy FA's keep the money & it dosnt flow on, you dont want it to end up like here where the races & facilities have become a joke with poor fields & no money because everyone has moved ![]() |

![]() They should have at least staged it on a left handed track..
I'm sure some owners/trainers would be interested but you still have to pay for the costs. There is also the small matter that very few decent horses over here actually run on the all weather.

![]() I suppose a another option for overseas interests would be to do what tinkler did
Patinack Farm principal Nathan Tinkler has made yet another mark on one of the world’s biggest yearling sales, this time buying a handful of youngsters at the Keeneland sale in Kentucky. Foremost among Tinkler’s purchases has been a colt by Smart Strike from the Victoria Oaks placegetter Lan Kwai Fong. Tinkler’s agent Vin Cox went to US$475,000 for the colt whose dam is by Bluebird. Having instituted a number of changes at home, Tinkler continued the building of his thoroughbred empire in the US having also made significant international purchases this year in France and Japan. Cox said at Keeneland that the buying would continue later in the year at Tattersalls in England and Goff’s in Ireland. Cox said a number of the American purchases would remain in the US with those who have issues that might hinder their racing prospects to be shipped to Australia for breeding purposes. maybe a race in kentucky where overseas & american horses can compete in a race where the winner gets exemption into the KD |
