Red Rocks and Better Talk Now are BC Turf champions. What has Proudinsky done? win a couple of G2s?

It was the single most impressive score I saw in an ungraded stake on the turf at Monmouth today......no question about it.

It sets him up perfectly for............absolutely nothing.

I don't know man. I thought he handled his business quite well. Hardly a very exciting performance... but pretty good stuff.

He beat Proudinsky by a head in basically a four horse photo. What am I missing?

He hadn't run on the turf since his debut - and was difficult to settle early on.

I think if he met Proudinsky and Shakis again in a few weeks the outcome would likely see him winning much more convincingly.

I bet Proudinsky and thought he had every chance for sure.

Does the performance deserve a capital wow and four exclamation points? Of course not - that posters only job is to rack up the points and try and cement his status as the #1 pick in the '09 DT Fantasy tard draft.

I thought the performence deserved a WOW!!! however most are bias on the forum, against BB and remember he's moving up from 3yr old races to older horses. Will he win the classic? I'm not sure, however I bet he gives a good account of himself. The horse is 7/8 winners and still only 3. If he wins
Classic a lot of people will rag it because they hate Dutrow.

I couldn't agree more. It is amazing to me the lack of respect for Big Brown. Many on this Board can only find the negatives or excuses why he deserves little credit. He's had a stellar year and the best thing that has come along in 2008. Would love to see Big Brown win the BCC.

I kinda agree with you here but a "WOW" does not sit here. It was a much better performance as compared to the Haskell. Desormaeux knew what he was doin setting the fast pace and BB had the GUTS to hold off the others.
The field was filled with G3 caliber horses but it wasnt BB's fault.

It was an exciting race. So was the third at Belmont today. Should we give the winner of that NY Bred MSW a " WOW!!! " as well?

Good thing Red Rocks and Better talk now wasn't there they would have been up the track somewhere with that pace.

Yes, he did. He is to racing commentary what Timmigirvan is to politics.

I'm sure he made some $$ on BB today, but in the long run, anytime someone with that thought process wants to keep feeding the mutual pools, Im all for it.

Did the Fatman see how Get Serious tried to herd
horses around the first turn?
Too bad there were no horses to herd.

Where be the outrage.
Where be the fat...

Big Brown did run well today and considering the overall quality of the US turf horses he would probably be reasonably competitive in many of our turf races, at least at 1 1/8 or less. However, that really doesn't mean a great deal, and for a horse many have heralded as a special horse, today's effort in some ways devalues his supposed abilities.

He's a very good horse. We all knew that. However, today's race did nothing to disprove the notion that he was simply born in the right year.
