It is impossible because the announced attendance and the real attendance won't be the same thing. If Curlin can only get 10K at Belmont, BB is going to basically do the same, but weather might even drive it lower.

The attendance was 17,047. A week earlier, for a card that did not include Big Brown, Monmouth drew 2,587.

Big Brown wasn't the reason the attendance swelled.

There was a rumor that Frankel was actually going to run one of his horses not named Ginger Punch that he had entered in a race. That drew out over 17k unbelieving New Yorkers and New Joisians.

I wasn't around the previous Saturday -- what was the weather like?

Monmouth only drew 2500 on a Saturday?

MISERABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rained all day.

But, it still was an excellent crowd for a September Saturday at Monmouth, where they normally draw about 4,000.

Got it. I haven't really paid attention to the figures, but for that facility, location, etc. and when I've been there -- I would have said they drew 10k on a Saturday. Tough go in this industry.

3 more years of subsidy, see that happens around NJ, and then the VLT discussion again.
